RheinEnergie Half Marathon Cologne 2019
About
Sunday was my fourth half marathon and my second with Anchor Running Crew Duisburg. I was hoping for a new personal best but unfortunately I came down with a touch of flu on Friday evening. I decided to do the race anyhow since I had already forked out 70 euros for the entry fee.
Despite not feeling my normal self, I managed to cross the finish line after an acceptable 1 hour, 50 minutes and 10 seconds. I then made my way to the cheering zone and cheered on the remaining half marathon, full marathon and relay marathon runners.
The photo above was taken at Ottoplatz in front of Köln Messe/Deutz station just before the start. In the photo I'm at the front, second from the left next to the guy with two cans of König Pilsner Beer.
