Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo, Japan

This famous crossing in Tokyo is known as a "scramble" intersection. All vehicle traffic stops at the same time, allowing pedestrians to walk across the street in every direction, including diagonally. I took this photo last Monday at around 1630pm. I made sure to cross the street at least four times to get the full experience.
During peak times, thousands of pedestrians can cross all at once, yet despite the chaotic appearance, it has a very orderly energy. I doubt such a system would work in Europe.
