Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo, Japan
About
This famous crossing in Tokyo is known as a "scramble" intersection. All vehicle traffic stops at the same time, allowing pedestrians to walk across the street in every direction, including diagonally. I took this photo last Monday at around 1630pm.
During peak times, thousands of pedestrians can cross all at once, yet despite the chaotic appearance, it has a very orderly energy. I doubt such a system would work in Europe.
