The little white icy patch in the centre of the pic is the start of the ice. This was as far as I could go though on the free walk. I think I preferred it to Fox Glacier which I visited earlier today on the way. Due to heavy rain last night there was also lots of waterfalls that had appeared over night in the surrounding mountains.
