Privacy and Cookies

I want users of my site to always be aware of any information I collect (email address etc), how I use it, and under what circumstances, if any, I disclose it.

The Data Protection Act

Under the Data Protection Act, I have a legal duty to protect any information I collect from you. I use appropriate technologies to safeguard your data, and keep some security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it.

I do not pass on your details to any third party unless you give me permission to do so. I do not send you subsequent communications unless you give me permission to do so.

Information Collection and Use

When you supply any personal information to matthewfedak.co.uk I have legal obligations towards you in the way I deal with that data.

I must collect the information fairly and tell you if I want to pass the information on to anyone else. Any information you provide to matthewfedak.co.uk will only be used within matthewfedak.co.uk.

Notification of Changes

By using this site, you are signifying your agreement to matthewfedak.co.uk's Internet Privacy Policy. If you cannot agree to these terms, please do not use the site.

If I decide to change my privacy policy, I will post those changes to this privacy statement page.

Contact Information

If site users have any questions or suggestions regarding my privacy policy, please contact me here.

Please state clearly in your message what aspects of the privacy policy you would like to discuss.

Cookies

This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience.

How do cookies help?

In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better.

However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. I would suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

GDPR Compliance

In preparation for GDPR changes coming into effect 25th May 2018 I have conducted a full audit of this small sites security, when and where I collect any user information and if so how I currently/could use it.

I regularly update this sites codebase to run the latest and secure version of any 3rd party code packages as well as continually conforming to industry standard security practices.

How do I use your data?

In short, I do not. When you leave a comment on the site your email address and name will be stored with DISQUS, a popular 3rd party blog comments widget. I do not share your data with any third parties.

The only way in which I would ever use your email for example data is if I needed to respond to your contact page message directly. Your email address or IP address is not publicly accessible.

Your data is alway yours, not mine!

If you would like to request what data (if any) I hold on you, you can do so by contacting me via the contact form page.

I can erase any data permanently at your request.
