The great thing about Rio having so many beaches is that when its cloudy on one of them, you can just walk to another one thats sunny. Ipanema beach was cloud free compared to the adjacent Copacabana beach this afternoon and it very busy as it's a Saturday. Ipanema is one of the most expensive places to live here in Rio and it's full of up market cafes, hotels and restaurants. It is also a great place to surf it seems and the swell looked really nice and long too. It would have been perfect for a novice like me but I was pretty hungover after partying in Lapa till the early hours last night ;)
