musicStation: A FLASH mp3player for myspace

Why bother?

Like so many other myspace users I was not satisfied with the limited playlist abilities provided by myspace. After being let down by other 3rd party flash mp3 players I decided to create my own. Unlike other free mp3players for myspace I developed mine to be user friendly, simple and reliable.

Is it unique?

Unlike any other flash mp3 player I have seen on the internet, it uses the flash dataGrid component which allows users to sort tracks alphabetically or via track duration.

How does it work?

Upon execution the player imports a specified XML file which is parsed and its contents added to an array. This array is then specified as a dataProvider and bound to the dataGrid.

The XML file contains information about each track such as name, artist, duration and most importantly its location. Flash has the ability to start playing an audio file before the whole file has actually loaded, hence providing the user with an experience similar to that of streaming media. This charateristic can be uncomfortable though to users with slower internet connections or those with a limited bandwidth allowance.

just notics today for some reason project1 and project 3 wont load, its because the audio files are missing, god knows when they got deleted.
