In this assignment (for Tech2006 Audio Application Development) I created a musical score to a poem using Jsyn. Jysn is a Java API for real-time audio synthesis and computer music production. Jysn is fundamentally a synthesis language inspired by Csound and other MUSIC-N languages. The piece uses 5 different synth circuits and an audio buffer to playback the speech. To create the actual score the individual circuits are triggered accordingly via a series of for loops and basic logic structures.
The Force of Electro (by Matthew Fedak)
As I walked away from the seaside and tried to escape the heat
I walked into a cafe that played electro beats
The bass line was a pulse wave it brought me to my knees
My head started spinning and my ears began to bleed.
I couldn't control my feelings I just wanted to let go
And thats when I discovered the force of electro
The modulation took over me it began to fry my brain
The sine waves were inside of me and my voice began to change
The red noise washed over me as I headed for the door
And walked back into the sunlight to speak of it no more
